I needed the model to have brightly coloured hair, that was a must. This moodboard just was really just a pinboard of what I had been looking at and what had inspired the shoot. The background that you can see poking through was a photo of ash. (I was going for a smoky eye and there's no smoke without fire- See what I did there?)
I had looked at some of the crude hairstyles from the 90s. The unrefined and smoothed mini buns and twists was something else that was going to be included in the overall look.
The makeup is going to be fairly simple, it is just a berry lip and smoky eye, I might even dull down the smoky eye when I come to shooting it as I don't want it to look like a teenager has had a photoshoot.
Glitter roots have fascinated me for ages because I just thought it was such a ballsy statement. It allows you to be a kid again and have fun with your look because fashion isn't serious all of the time.
